Getting started

Five steps from signup to "your AI agent answers your phone".

1. Sign up

Sign up. Enter your business website, your name, and your email — Google sign-in works too. We'll scan your site and pre-fill the agent for you.

If you don't have a website, you can skip and configure manually.

2. Confirm your agent

After signup you land on the dashboard with one agent already created — named after your business, with a system prompt drafted from your website. Open it, listen to the preview voice, tweak the greeting and the system prompt to match how you want them to sound.

3. Connect a phone number

Two options:

  • Get a Foan number — we provision a Twilio number in your country in minutes. No regulatory hurdles for most use cases.
  • Forward your existing number — set conditional call forwarding on your existing line so missed calls land at Foan. We give you the number to forward to.

See Connecting Twilio for the detailed flow.

4. Make a test call

In the agent settings, click "Test call" and enter your phone number. Foan dials you within seconds. You hear what your customers will hear.

5. Go live

When you're happy, switch the agent to active. From that moment on, every call to that number is answered.

What happens next

Most customers connect a calendar (Calendly or Google Calendar) so the agent can book appointments, and a CRM or Google Sheet so the agent knows who's calling. See Integrations.

Outbound campaigns (calling out to customers) are a different product — see Customer Care or Sales.
